A person is said to be suffering from Cholera, if he is infected by the bacteria known as Vibrio cholerae. Cholera is the disease which causes infection and inflammation of the small intestine.

Stools passed during cholera infection is usually silvery in colour and has a very strong odor like that of a fish.

Nausea is further followed by vomiting and inability of the patient to keep down anything. This results in the body suffering from electrolyte imbalance. Hence, the patients are advised to take lots of water and fluids to remain hydrated.
Dehydration of the body is yet another symptom of cholera. Due to excessive diarrhea and constant vomiting, the patient is dehydrated. The patient complains of excessive dryness of the throat and skin area. The urine output of the patient’s body also decreases.
They also experience acute thirst and have accelerated heart beat. As a result of dehydration, there is imbalance of electrolytes in the body, which further results in dropping of the body blood pressure.
The patients suffering from cholera experience severe cramps in the legs and muscles of the abdomen. These cramps are very painful and cause uneasiness to the patient. The eyes of the patient also becomes sunken and there is an overall weight loss of the body.
Weakness And Tiredness
The cholera patients are often very tired due to dehydration of the body and complain of overall body weakness. They are also plagued by acute drowsiness and feel like sleeping all the time.
Shock, Coma And Death
Cholera infected patients are advised to seek immediate medical attention. Lack of proper and timely treatment can result the patient’s body going into shock, due to excess loos of fluids of the body.
