This has gained importance due to fact that the mortality rate has gone up, but many who live old also live miserable lives if they do not take steps to keep themselves physically and mentally alert. Here are 70 tips which could make you feel alert even at 70 and make you think life is worth living.
The first tip is to join the 70 plus health club. There would be many more who would join along with you. This is not to refer to any health club, but to the benefits of keeping oneself active helping your children and their families in the rat race of earning money and the concept of a 2 pay-packet family. Grandparents can and are expected at times to be babysitters and housekeepers. It is nothing wrong in accepting this responsibility if one can live with one’s self-esteem because it would keep one physically active and alert at 70.
The second tip is to take up doing aerobic exercises, which makes the heart beat faster and harder and also improves one’s mental abilities to be alert at 70. Walking, jogging and running could help production of serotonin in the brain. This becomes possible by the production of more brain cells that nourish the brain and also improves one’s moods and vigor. One’s ability to concentrate, take decisions and initiative and the memory and organizational powers are enhanced.
