Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is one of the most effective home remedies for treating the foot fungus. It has certain antiseptic properties, which helps in fighting the fungus. You can apply tea tree oil in a number of ways depending upon what part of your foot is affected.
If you have toenail fungus, then just dab some oil directly on the affected nails, many times in a day. However, if the problem is a skin based fungus, then mix about 3 parts of tree oil to one part of aloe vera gel and apply the solution on the infected areas, at least twice a day.
Salt soak is also known to heal foot fungus. Just add two tablespoons of salt to a quarter of warm water and then pour the solution and then soak your feet for about 10 minutes in the salt water. You may need to repeat this remedy until you get some relief and the fungus begins to fade away.
Baking soda is yet another wonderful home remedy for treating the foot fungus. It helps neutralize itching, burning or stinging sensations that are some of the trademark symptoms of foot fungus.
It naturally heals the fungus without any added irritation on the affected area. Make a thick paste with baking soda and water and then apply the paste over the infected area, especially between the toes. Leave the paste to dry for about 10 minutes and then rinse off the dried paste with water.
Yogurt is considered to be very effective in treating foot fungus. You need to use the plain and unsweetened yogurt for reducing the discomforts caused by foot fungus. This type of yogurt contains the live culture that works wonders in killing the existing fungus on your foot.
Apply the plain yogurt to the affected area using a cotton swab and allow it to dry out completely. Then rinse it off from the feet using lukewarm water. You may need to repeat the same treatment for 2-3 times per day.
You can even use vinegar to get rid of the foot fungus. The vinegar solution should include one part of white distilled vinegar added to two parts of water. Soak your feet in the vinegar solution for 20 minutes at least once a day regularly till the fungus fades away.
