A Healthy Diet To Prevent Gall Bladder Disease

Stones get create in the gall bladder and these stones are known as gallstones. In a study conducted it has been observed that 10 to 20 percent of all adults over the age of forty have gall stones.

Most of them however did not show and signs or symptoms of having gallstones. Gallstones are formed due to large amounts of fats which make the gall bladder work harder.

It is advised to make sure that your food should be low in fat and cholesterol content. The bile gets saturated with cholesterol when you eat large amounts of fat. This causes the bile to crystallize and turn into stones which causes inflammation of the gall bladder. In case you use a lot of oil in your cooking switch to oils like olive oil which are rich in monounsaturated fats as these are easier to break down.

If you are overweight then you should lose the extra pounds that you have gained. Over weight results in greater fluctuations of blood sugar and insulin levels which can make you more susceptible to getting or developing gallstones.

Avoid taking refined sugars as they again cause high variations in insulin and blood sugar levels which can lead to the development of gallstones. Exercise daily to help reduce your weight. Exercise also helps reduce the risk of gallstone development.

Avoid fasting or having an ultra low calorie diet as this would cause rapid weight loss which would decrease the flow of bile and cause higher chances of gallstones developing.

Coffee helps in reducing gallstone incidences. A study conducted proved that men who drank more than 4 cups of coffee a day had reduced the changes of gallstone development.

Women who are taking any king of oral contraceptives or undergoing estrogen replacement therapy should consult their doctor as by adding estrogen to your body you may be over stimulating the removal of bile.
