Acne Prevention: The Natural Way

Acne is a common disorder in teenage and the twenties. At this time the sebaceous glands remain overactive. The excessive oil that is secreted clogs the pores of the skin and creates blackheads and pimples.

Dead cell, dirt and bacteria, after coming in contact with the skin, aggravate the situation. Dead cells also, if not removed, begin to accumulate on the outer layer of the skin. So, the main requirement in acne treatment is to keep your skin clean and oil free. Home made natural products help to control acne naturally.

Neem, with its antiseptic quality, does wonders in acne treatment. Boil few neem leaves in water. Strain the water and preserve it in the refrigerator. Wash your face with this antiseptic water at least 3- 4 times a day.

Neem water helps to kill bacteria which create pimples. Then you have turmeric, another wonder of nature. Add neem water to a fine paste of turmeric and apply it on face and neck to prevent and cure pimples. Apply this antiseptic product regularly before taking bath. Keep it for at least 15 minutes before washing off.

Cucumber is also effective in acne treatment. Grate cucumber, strain the juice and preserve it in refrigerator. You may add a few drops of lemon juice in it. This solution is effective in case of oily skin. Tea tree oil, derived from Malaleuca alternifoliais, contains Terpenes which have anti-bacterial properties and prove very effective in acne treatment.

Aloe vera provides good natural cure for acne. Slit an aloe vera tube and remove the gel from it. Rub it on both of your palms and apply it on your face and neck. Aloe vera not only prevents acne, it helps to remove scar marks and black heads. It also nourishes the skin and is suitable for all skin types.

Use homemade scrubbers to get rid of acne. You may use rice husk or coarsely ground lentils for this purpose. Soak these products in little milk and then apply it on your face and neck. Massage your face in circular motion. Do this for five minutes and wash off with cold water. In this process you not only remove dead cells, but also dirt and other unwanted particles from skin.
