Alternative and Natural Remedies for Gingivitis
When your gums are swollen, red and they bleed when you brush your teeth you are suffering from gingivitis. This is dangerous as you loose lot of blood as well as prolonged illness causes the teeth to get weak and you may even lose teeth due to the condition. It is caused as a result of plaque which is formed due to poor brushing and flossing.
The point is that you may brush your teeth for hours and yet not be able to get rid of all the germs and bacteria in your mouth. In order to ensure that you kill all the germs you must brush your teeth with salt and baking soda. This helps to whiten teeth and get rid of all the bacteria in your mouth.
There are several herbs that are also helpful in preventing and curing this condition. Mix thyme and cinnamon with peppermint oil and add this mix to vegetable oil then with the help of a toothpick you must paint the oil onto the gap of each tooth. This will help to eliminate the germs that cause the swelling and bleeding of the tooth. Let the mix stay on your teeth overnight and then wash it in the morning with warm water. This will lead to whiter and stronger teeth and healthier gums.
Your diet also has a huge impact in the state of your teeth and gums. Eating a diet that is rich in protein causes the destruction of the teeth and gums. Foods that are high in spices also cause the gums to get destroyed as the body releases gases that flow in the upwards direction and this causes harm to the tooth bed and the gums. You must also avoid eating too much sugar and reduce the consumption of caffeine and alcohol. In order to prevent and cure gingivitis you must have a healthy dose of vitamin C. This vitamin helps to strengthen the immune system and thereby reduces the bleeding from the gums.
You must also massage your gums daily and press out any blood that may be trapped in them in order to get rid of it and prevent further infections.
