
Nausea is common to pregnant women who suffer from morning sickness. Although they are throwing up only in the initial part of the day; they experience nausea through out the day. Aromatherapy helps to relieve this sensation as using anti biotic drugs is not an option too be used at this time. Since aromatherapy uses only essential oils and plant extracts they are safe. Remember to use it daily to relieve any feelings of nausea especially in the first trimester.
-Every morning boil a cup of water with a handful of cumin seeds. Boil it till the water turns muddy. Strain the seeds and let the water cool down. Add a spoon of sugar to the water and drink it while it’s warm. This helps to relieve the nausea and prevents you from throwing up.
-Drinking a cup of herbal tea first thing in the morning is the best thing you can do to keep yourself from being uneasy throughout the day.
-Add a few drops of peppermint oil to your handkerchief and keep smelling it throughout the day whether you are at work or at home. This will keep you from getting upset through the day. Doing this will subside your feelings of nausea.
-To relieve yourself of any feelings of heartburn or nausea blend equal parts of peppermint oil with lavender oil and add to a diffuser or bath water. The oils will guarantee you instant relief.
-Gently massage peppermint oil on your temples to get rid of the headache that accompanies the nausea.
Essential tips
-Before using aromatherapy consult your doctor and keep him informed of the oils that you are using before you administer anything.
-If you are adding citrus based oils to your bath water you must avoid the sun for 6 hours after your bath. It is best to use them at night.
-Never massage the oils into your abdomen but use them in diffusers. The safest version will be incense sticks or candles. Be careful where you light the flame though.
