Avoid Ingrown Hair – Tips for men

Men have a huge issue with ingrown hair; this is a condition where a hair grows in the skin instead of growing out. This is a common feature in men because they shave in a hurry and sometimes even shave without using water. A dry shave damages the skin in the form of ingrown hair and soreness or bumps on the skin.

Cleaning your face before you shave will save your skin. When you wet your skin you get rid of the bacteria on it that may cause the ingrown hair. In addition to this you must also use a mild face wash that has exfoliating crystals in it. Exfoliation will soften the hair follicles and make shaving easier. Getting rid of dead skin cells on your skin before you shave will help to make your skin softer and shaving smoother.

You need to have the right tools when you are shaving. Using a razor that is blunt will not help your skin but will cause the skin to get rough. A blunt razor will require you to shave on the same area several times; this increases the risk of razor burns and ingrown hair. If you are using an electric razor then use it only to trim the hair on your face.

If you notice a hair growing into the skin then you need to pluck it with a pair of tweezers. In case you are not able to pluck it you must lift it and then shave it off.

If you already have a few ingrown hairs then you can try these home remedies to get rid of the hair. Heat lemon juice with honey and sugar till it forms a thick paste. When it cools down apply the paste on your skin and let it dry. Then with the help of your finger tips massage the paste into your skin. It will form thick peels and begin to fall off. This will help to open the pores and get rid of the ingrown hair.

Rubbing lemon juice on your skin daily at night will help to tighten the pores and prevent the hair from growing inwards.
