Lavender oil is the most commonly used oil in aromatherapy. It is used to cure various common ailments and emotional disturbances. It has been used for centuries as an antiseptic. It is used to relax and invigorate your senses.

Get rid of headaches by using lavender oils. Most headaches are stress related and they cause the muscles from your head to your shoulders to tighten up and become stiff. In this case add a few drops of lavender oil to hot or cold water and immerse a towel into this water. Place the towel on your forehead and relax for 20 minutes. You may want to squeeze the extra water out of it. If you are at the office then dab a few drops of the oil on your temples or add it your handkerchief and keep it close to you. If you have the time then you can opt to get a massage with a mix of lavender oil and base oil that will help to relax your nerves by calming your senses.

Often we get stressed out. Our lives are surrounded by stressors like work and family, finances and leisure that play havoc into our lives from time to time. To take care of this lavender oil comes to the rescue. It has the ability to calm and soothe nerves and is therapeutic in relieving stress. Simply add a few drops of the oil into your bath water or add it to a bowl or hot water and let the fumes run through the room. The aromatic fragrance will soothe your nerves and you will feel refreshed within a few minutes.

It also helps to fight insomnia. If you spend sleepless night then you need to rub lavender oil on the palm of your hands and then run it through your hair. It will help to get you into slumber mode in no time.
