Lemon juice makes a great summer drink but the benefits are beyond helping you to cool off. Lemon has a variety of uses as a natural skin care and beauty product. In order to get rid of blackheads and white heads on your skin you must rub lemon juice all over your skin in the night and let the juice soak into your skin. Wash it off in the morning with cool water for a refreshed feeling. Not only will you see a reduced number of blackheads on your skin within a few weeks, you will notice a visible difference in your skin tone. Lemon juice is known to help to lighten the skin; however you must take care to avoid exposing your skin to the sun if you are using the juice on it. You must also add lemon juice to your bath water and soak in it to get an overall glow on your skin.
If your skin is sensitive then you must dilute the juice or use it on a cotton ball that has already been soaked in cold water. This helps to reduce the astringent effect on your skin and prevents burning sensation and rashes.
Lemon can be used to exfoliate your skin as well. You can add a few granules of sugar onto the lemon skin and massage it into your skin or juice the lemon and add sugar and water and rub it on your skin in circular motions. This helps to get rid of excess oil that may be trapped in your skin and eliminates the dead skin. You can use this mixture every night to get softer skin.
Lemon also works to prevent premature aging. Mix lemon juice with honey and almond oil and massage it onto your skin and then let it dry. Wash it off after 20 minutes. Do this 4 to 5 times a week and you will be able to see a reduction in the number of wrinkles and lines on your face.
If your nails are brittle then you must soak your nails for 10 minutes in lemon juice and then wash them with white vinegar. This helps to make your nails strong and prevents them from cracking and breaking.
