Benefits of Organic Foods
What is organic food?
Organic foods are crops grown on healthy soils with unpolluted waters and without the use of chemicals or fertilizers. Foods grown organically have 50% more nutrients and minerals than other foods. They do not appear to be very healthy in their raw form as they have not been treated and are naturally grown. It is a way of going back in time and going back to your basics.
Almost every fruit and vegetable we consume today is loaded with pesticides because everything we eat today is grown using modern methods. A bite of an apple loads you with all the nutrients as well as 30 pesticides from the soil that they are grown in. These pesticides put you in the risk of chronic diseases like cancer, obesity as well as birth defects. Animals that graze on these on open farms get affected by the pesticides as well thereby contaminating the poultry like eggs, milk and meat that we consume.
What are the benefits of organic foods?
Organic foods are a safer and a healthier option as they are devoid of pesticides and fertilizers. Since they are in the natural form they eliminate the possibilities of chemicals affecting your body. Beside that they are extremely nutritious.
The structural and metabolic factors are not tampered with hence they retain their taste for longer periods of time as opposed to other fruits and vegetables.
Organic farming reduces pollution in the environment as well as helps in conserving water and soil.
Organic foods are the safest. They have more minerals and vitamins. They are our only resort to ensuring good health and safe environment. These days they are readily available in any supermarket. They are slightly more expensive than other foods. Switching over to organic foods help you save the environment and your family from irreparable damage. Go ahead, after all switching over is worth it.
