Black Eye Treatment – How to Get Rid of It

Black eye is the result of a bruise, which is a fancy name for a bruise. It is usually caused because of the external force being applied very hard, so hard that it hurt the area of the eyes. Bruises take place when the body takes a sharp bluster that cracks the capillaries and causes the blood to leak in the adjacent area and tissues and collect it to the point of damage. Black eye can be treated easily but no matter what, it takes about a week or two for healing.

Ways of getting rid of black eyes:

Controlling swelling: Use ice packs wrapped in a towel helps to control the pain as well as swelling of the affected area. Besides, the use of castor oil also good and must be rubbed gently on the black eye. Again by putting a bag of frozen peas into the affected area can help in treating black eye to a large extent. Besides all these aspects, raw beef stakes are also helpful is treating black eye by controlling the swelling of the eyes.

Sleeping treat: One can also treat the skin while sleep by putting on overnight facial masques that are available. It helps in reducing the appearance of puffiness and discoloration. Again home-made remedy is also equally helpful. One has to take a wash cloth, wet it with just a bit of cold water, then squeeze out the excess water and place it over the eyes while sleeping.

Chin position: The chin must be poised upwards most of the time. This position though might look awkward, helps in the treating of black eye. It helps in the process of discoloration that might take about two weeks to heal completely.

Cold compress: Cold compress is extremely useful for treating black eye. In this treatment, the ice has to be covered in a towel so as to protect the eyelid from getting affected as the skin on the lid is very thin. Then the ice wrapped in the towel has to be placed on the cheeks near the eyes, instead of eyelids in order to stop the cause of further damage to the eyes.

Vitamin C: Consumption of large doses of vitamin C for the next four-five days has been proven to promote healing of bruises or contusions.

Cleaning: The area must be cleaned daily to prevent infection. Small wounds should be thoroughly rinsed with water and if possible, with soap too. This is a critical step and must be followed to prevent further infection of any forms and at all costs.
