Causes and Cure for Parkinson’s Disease
Parkinson’s normally occurs in individuals after the age of 50. It is prevalent in men and woman and is one of the most common diseases of the elderly. The first sign of the disease is the persons face forms a fixed shape and the person faces inability to move facial muscles. The patient then tends to loose the ability to write or the writing may become illegible. All these factors clubbed with age tends to lead the person to getting depressed or suffering from dementia.
Can this disease be cured?
Currently there is no medication available to cure the disease completely. Physiotherapy is the only solution. This helps to maintain motor movements and avoid further attacks on other motor skills. In addition if a member of your family is suffering from Parkinson’s then you must treat them with care and respect rather than getting frustrated. Remember, the fact that they have lost their skills is already disturbing to them. If they realize that they are a disturbance to you it will lead to even more frustration.
And addition to physiotherapy the patient must also undergo speech therapy. This helps develop language skills lost due to deterioration of motor skills.
