
Growth of an extra bone on the normal bone of our body is called bone spur. The clinical term used to describe bone spur is the osteophytes. The bones our body which are prone to bone spur include shoulder joints, joints of hands, knees, spine, hips and feet. The people in the age group of 60 years and above are at higher risk of getting this problem. When an extra bone gets developed near bone joints of the body, it rubs against the other bones during body movement and causes pain. Taking about 10 grams of turmeric while getting up in the morning gives a great relief from the bone spur symptoms. You should take this regularly for 10 to 15 days. In case of inflammation, you can give compressions of ice pack 3 to 4 times a day. It will reduce inflammation and will help in quick treatment of bone spur.
