Causes and Symptoms of Constipation
There are many causes behind constipation, of which the most important is wrong type of diet at wrong time. Some people like to eat mainly protein rich food and they dislike eating adequate fruits and vegetables in their daily diet. So they do not get enough fiber that may help them to move their bowel. Inadeqate drinking (less than 8 glass of plain water) may lead to constipation. Apart from diet, lack of exercise, inadequate sleep also can be the other causes of constipation. Symptoms of constipation are foul breath, coated tongue, yellowish teeth, headache, sleep disorder, dizziness, nausea, vomiting tendency, acne, pimples, bad mood, depression, etc.
To cure constipation you have to follow a simple diet which is easy to digest. If you eat too much spicy and oily food, it will not be digested easily and your bowel movement will be improper. People who eat a great amount of animal protein may suffer from constipation because animal protein especially red meats take a huge time to get digested. So eat fibrous foods such as pulses, fruits and vegetables. Eat plenty of green vegetables such as ladies finger, spinach, coriander and different types of herbs. Eat fresh fruits such as bael or wood apple, lime, oranges, mango, etc. Wood apple is regarded as best laxative because it helps to clean and tones up the intestine. Papaya and guava are excellent in treating constipation. Add these two things in your daily diet. Dry grapes or raisins and dates also are excellent to cure constipation. Eat whole grain cereals, bran, lentils, dry fruits and high fiber diet. Stay away from refined flower. For this reason avoid biscuits, cake, pastries, etc. Do not eat too much sweets because sugar and sugary foods may lead you to constipation. Restrict the drinking of tea or coffee. Stay away from smoking and alcohol.

Drink Enough Water and Fluids
Keep your body hydrated with enough water. Drink adequate water everyday that is 8-10 glasses of water everyday. Supply enough fluids to prevent your body from dehydration. If your body gets dehydrated, your bowel movement will not be cleared. So supply your body enough fluids with different types of liquid foods. Foods like fruit juice, soups, vegetable soups, etc. supply great amount of water in your body. Drink a glass of lemon juice everyday to clear bowel. Making of lemon juice is very easy.You may take warm water or plain natural water. Squeeze one lemon in it and add a teaspoon of honey. Mix well everything and drink it at empty stomach in the morning. It will help you to clear your bowel. Drinking warm milk in the morning also helps to fight constipation. Grapefruits are natural laxative. Drink grape juice to clear your bowel. Juices of sugarcane, beetroot and tomato are helpful to clear your bowel.
Take Foods at Fixed Time
Foods must be taken at the right time. If you take foods at different time in different days, your digestive system will be hampered. Take your food regularly at a fixed time. So you should have a fixed time of breakfast, lunch and dinner. Do not take foods very late at night. Be sure that there is a gap of at least one hour between taking food and going to bed. Chew your foods well before swallowing so that it is digested easily. Do not overstuff your stomach with foods. Leave a space in stomach so that it becomes digested. Stop eating, before your stomach is completely full. Do not drink water immediately after taking food. Maintain a gap of at least 15-20 minutes before taking the water
Wake up in the morning and do some freehand exercises such as walking, jogging, swimming, yoga, etc. after taking food at night it is better to go for a walk for at least half an hour. Walking after taking food helps to digest it and solve the problem of insomnia or sleep disorder. There are some special types of yoga which helps to cure the problem effectively. For this you have to take the advice of physiotherapist. People, who mainly lead a sedentary lifestyle, very frequently suffer from constipation. If you do not move your limb, the digestive juice inside your body will not be secreted properly and your food will remain undigested. Undigested food means the problem of constipation.
Adequate sleep is necessary to digest your food properly. Unless your food is not digested, your bowel will not be cleared. In today’s modern world where work pressure is high, people sometimes curtail the time of sleeping to save time and there start the problem of constipation. One mature person needs 5-6 hours deep sleep and a child needs at least 8 -10 hours undisturbed sleep to digest all types of foods and remain healthy. So do not neglect your everyday sleep.
To overcome the problem of constipation is not at all impossible. What you need is to follow the routine and maintain a disciplined life. Do not allow constipation in your life. Initially it seems to be a very serious problem but the effects of constipation may turn serious. Unless you treat it at primary stage, it may turn chronic. If your constipation take a chronic shape, it will be very hard to get cured from it. So take timely and necessary steps to cure constipation in time.
