Jock itch is one of the commonly seen fungal infections especially in the regions of groin and thighs. The infection mainly results in ring shaped red inflammations or rashes. These rashes are found to be very uncomfortable and irritating.

Even though the chance of getting infected is equal in everyone, it is commonly noticed in those who sweat a lot. Being overweight can also amplify the risk of jock itch. Favorably there are a lot of effective home cures for the problem of jock itch. It is found that jock itch can be cured completely using essential oils and aromatherapy.

Aromatherapy For Jock Itch

Moisture and warmness of skin is one of the main causes for the problem of jock itch. Applying some of the essential oils over the skin can be helpful in checking the intensity of fungal infections. Tea tree oil, lavender oil, cypress oil, patchouli oil are known to be some of the effective vital oils used in the case of jock itch and other fungal infections. A few drops of these oils can be dissolved in a mug of water and can be used for rinsing the infected areas of skin.

Dry up the areas using a cotton towel to prevent further infections. A few drops of any one of the above mentioned vital oils can be mixed in about 5 ml of pure vegetable oil and can be applied over the infected skin before going to sleep. The excellent antiseptic as well as antifungal properties of these oils are responsible for the effective curing of the infection.

Peppermint oil is another important essential oils usually used in the treatment for jock itch and other fungal diseases. The antipruritic property of peppermint oil is found to be effective in reducing the itching and irritations caused due to the problem of jock itch. Applying a little of peppermint oil over the infected areas of skin can very effectively help in reducing the fungal growth.

Jasmine oil, cedar wood oil etc. are also proved to be beneficial in curing the problem of jock itch. These oils can be mixed along with other carrier oils and can be applied over the rashes once in every day for the better results of the treatment. A smooth mixture of jasmine oil and orange oil can also be utilized for curing the infection very effectively.

Chamomile is found to be very effective in relieving from the stresses and tensions that may result in infections like jock itch due to the lessening of our body immunity. Hence chamomile oil can also be utilized in the treatment for jock itch and several other infections.

Rosemary is also found to have the same property shown by chamomile and is also found to be widely used as a treatment for the problem of jock itch. This is one of the important aromatherapy used in the case of jock itch. Using a lavender soap can also be useful in the treatment for the problem of same. Thyme extract is also known to be effective in curing the trouble of jock itch very effectively.
