Dandruff Treatment With the Use of Essential Oils and Herbs
Essential oils are natural based oils that are used in the treatments of various skin ailments and in holistic treatments. They are used in massages in the treatment of skin rashes and in diffusers when it is in the aromatic form of treatment. In some treatments they are used in a blend with other oils or diluted in water to cause a soothing effect. Dandruff is a deficiency of the skin where the skin on the scalp gets dry and begins to flake. This causes the skin to look dry and fall off eventually.
In the treatment of dandruff the best essential oil to use is tea tree oil. Blend it with a base oil like almond or coconut depending on your preference for oil and fragrance. Warm the blend and let it cool down to a temperature that is bearable by the skin. Use the microwave to warm the oil as it does not get too hot and you can check the temperature. Massage the oil in to your scalp.
Remember; in the treatment of dandruff you need not focus on the length of your hair but you must pay keen attention to your scalp. For best results soak a cotton ball in the oil and then partition your hair and run the cotton ball through the hair. This helps to get oil evenly on the scalp. Let the oil sink into the scalp and let it stay for a few hours. Wash your hair as you would normally do. Avoid using conditioner too often if you suffer from dandruff.
For a herbal approach to dandruff treatment you must use sesame oil on your scalp and massage it 2 to 3 times a week. The oil is soothing and has a calming effect on your skin. This helps to reduce the dryness on the scalp and also helps to attack the root cause of dandruff, stress. The oil helps to reduce stress drastically.
Neem hair oil, shampoos and soaps help to reduce dandruff quickly and effectively. Taking them in the supplement form is effective as it helps to cleanse the system from the inside out.
