Daydreaming: A Blessing in Disguise

Over the last few years a lot of people have started using day dreaming as a means to escape from stress and achieve better results in the personal and professional lives. Most people believe that day dreaming is not only a waste of time but also that they are silly and impossible to achieve but on the other hand day dreaming helps a person relax their mind and lets the mind wander.

People very often try to get themselves organized and when they implement their plan of organization they end up with an organization solution that doesn’t suit their need or it isn’t able to deliver the desired result. They then eventually tend to give up on the whole idea of getting organized as they either get tired, they don’t have the time or they don’t want to go through the entire exercise of re-organizing themselves. This could have been avoided by using day dreaming to help the person visualize and work through all the possibilities before implementing the best form of organization. This would help lead to less frustration and a much quicker and faster end result. Thus day dreaming can be used effectively to enhance work output and results.

Learning to day dream is not difficult and can be learnt easily. To day dream effectively there are a few things that a person needs to pay attention to. First of all you need to find a quiet place. Make sure that you are physically as comfortable as possible. You could either sit in a comfortable chair or lie in bed. Choose whatever best suits you. Ensure that you are not distracted by anything. Make sure that the television, the radio and even your cell phone is turned off as they could lead to you getting distracted and interrupted during the course of your day dreaming. If you’re not the only person in the house then inform your family that you would not like to be disturbed and that you would like some “alone time”.

Lie down in bed or sit in a chair and try to relax as much as possible. Remember day dreaming is an art that you need to perfect and it would take some time and practice. Don’t push yourself or force yourself to relax it needs to happen naturally.
