Headaches and migraines are become a very common thing and most people neglect and avoid them till they are unable to bear them any longer. There are various factors that cause headaches to occur or migraines to get aggravated. Some factors that contribute towards headaches and migraines could be the environment, air pollution, noise pollution, poor eating habits, poor sleeping habits, lifestyle, stress and food.

Most off these factors that contribute towards headaches and migraines can be prevent and this would help reduce not only the intensity of the headaches but also the frequency of its occurrence. Environmental factors can easily be controlled by ensuring that you live in a place which is less polluted. Pollution in this case could be either air or noise or maybe even both. If you live in an over crowded area and suffer from constant headaches then you should consider relocating to a quieter place if possible.

The countryside or a more open area would be ideal. If you are allergic to dust then try installing an air conditioning unit in your home as this would help reduce dust. It would also help you regulate the temperature to a level that is bearable if the climate is hot. Avoid sleeping in an air conditioned room with the temperature turned down very low as this could also caused headaches and migraines to flare up. Get enough of sleep and ensure that you drink plenty of water through the day.

Your eating habits should also be monitored and you should avoid foods that cause migraines and headaches to get even worse. Foods that you should avoid if you suffer from this condition would be cheese – all ripened forms of it such as Cheddar, Brice and Emmentaler. Cottage cheese should also be avoided. Vinegar, chocolate and anything that has been pickled, marinated or fermented for extended periods off time should also be avoided. Avoid eating sour cream and yogurt, nuts and peanut butter, hot fresh bread and doughnuts, broad bean pods such as lima beans or navy and pea pods and any foods that contain huge quantities of monosodium glutamate (MSG)- Chinese food is prepared with a lot of MSG and should be avoided.
