Eczema Treatment With Aromatherapy

December 2, 2008

Eczema is a form of inflammation or dermatitis of skin. Eczema is very irritating, allergic reaction of the skin. Eczema is triggered by the immune system. People suffering with eczema have immunoglobulin E which is produced by immune system by allergic reactions.

Eczema has symptoms like itching, flaking, rashes and blistering. Redness, dry skin, cracking is also symptoms of eczema. Intense itching is usually first sign of eczema, rashes appear later. A person suffering with eczema can become cause of awkwardness and great discomfort.  Eczema can be triggered by soaps, bacteria, creams, clothing, sweating, gloves, jewelry, and humid or dry weather.

Several essential oils are used in treatment of eczema.  These oils are added to the cream bases and lotions so that these can be applied as needed. These oils basically do not have any side-effects. Most of the essential oils help in rejuvenation and repair of the skin. Herbal teas and treatments are even helpful in the immune system also.

Some of the herbs that are helpful in developing good Immune System include Garlic, Goldenseal and Echinacea. These should be added in the diet. All the essential oils should be checked for allergies before use. Apply a drop of oil on the nape of neck and wait for fifteen hours and check the area for some reaction. If there is no reaction after fifteen hours the oil can be assumed as safe.

Wonderful healing oil can be prepared by adding Bergamot oil, Geranium oil, Juniper oil, Lavender oil and mix it in almond oil or jojoba oil. Great moisturizing effect of sesame oil is helpful in treatment of eczema. Oil of Thyme, Chamomile, Lavender, Jasmine, Myrrh, Roman Chamomile, Bergamot, and Clary Sage are used in treatment of eczema. Oils like sesame seed, Calendula, primrose oil and avocado are good in treating eczema. Avocado is good for treatment of the dehydrated and damaged skin by the sun or any other climatic change. It helps in softening and renewing the skin. These oils can be used in baths.

Aroma therapy for Allergy? sounds good, but to check the essential oils for allergy, for 15 long hours is what to be looked into. And in the last paragraph, how we can prepare the oils is also discussed…splendid work!
