Color therapy is an alternative therapy that propagates the use of color in curing several ailments. Whether the results are in fact positive or psychology helps you to feel at ease with the use of color therapy is still a matter of debate. Nonetheless, there are many who claim that the therapy is effective and it is quickly gaining popularity. The theory is based on science; on the theory tat the body reacts to the different frequencies of light and each frequency gives out a particular color.
In order to use color therapy, you can choose to work with the colors in your room, change the color of your clothes or accessories. In simple words playing around with colors can help to change your mood. Before starting the therapy, like any other form of treatment, you must gain full knowledge to avoid issues with the results.
Different colors have different effects on the body and the mind. Pastels have a calming effect, while bright bold colors lead to fierce reactions. You will notice that you may take a liking to a particular color but dislike another without any reason. This may be due to the current state of your well being or due to certain imbalances in your body.
Every color has its own property. Violet, the first color of the prism is related with spirituality; hence it has a calming effect and is extremely effective in reducing stress and helping with sleep disorders. Indigo is related with a sense of self worth; it gives out a feeling of devotion to duty and fearlessness. Hence lack of this can be dangerous as it can lead to impracticality and fear. Blue is related to communication and the power of speech.
Those lacking in the color have fear of public speaking. It is associated with asthma, bronchitis, sore throat and mouth ulcers. Green, the next color in the spectrum is known for its calming effects and thus is used in class rooms and hospitals. Orange is a fierce color and invokes rage and anger quickly. Red is the color of passion, it can invoke positive as well as negative emotions and hence one must be cautious when using the color in therapy.
