By the word “environment”, we mean all living and non-living things that are present on the earth. Environmental units like vegetation, rock, soil, animals, microorganisms, atmosphere, and natural resources like air, water, climate, emission of energy, etc. constitute the natural environment.
There are a number of environmental issues that lead to various diseases among the people. Dealing with these factors contributes a lot to the healthy living leading to a relaxed mind and body. Here are a few factors of ecological health issues and ways to deal with them:
Health problems and diseases: A large quantity of environmental factors like anoxic waters, poor air quality and pollution, synthetic chemicals leading to breast cancer contributes excessively to certain human diseases.
Climate change: Global climate change and global warming lead to a number of diseases and even deaths due to malaria and diarrhea throughout the world. Other diseases like dengue and measles are caused due to climate change.
Conservation: It is a unique way of allocating and protecting the wild life. However, some diseases like amphibian chytrid fungus led to large extinction of a certain kind of frogs, another disease called chronic wasting disease (CWD) proved deadly to the central nervous system of deer and elk.
Food: Blood sugar, hypertension and cholesterol are those diseases that arise mainly due to living habit and food habits.
Dam: Dam is an obstruction that impounds water or underground streams. Some diseases like typhoid and cholera are caused by contamination of water.
Bird Flu: Avian influenza or bird flu is a virus that does not spread easily to humans. However, a recent concluded study confirmed the spread of avian virus from human to human.
Besides these factors, environmental degradation, land degradation, intensive farming, ozone depletion, resource depletion, toxin, and waste are some reasons of environmental health issues.
