The human mind craves food from time to time. Your body may ask for the foods that are associated with positive memories or those that the body found appealing in taste. In reality these foods may not be the best for your system and eating them may be detrimental to your health. Unfortunately, our bodies never crave the likes of spinach, tofu and broccoli, the kind of foods that are actually of some nutritional value to our bodies. Fast foods like fries, chips and crisps, burgers and sodas are top on the list of cravings and unfortunately these foods are the unhealthiest and are the most common cause of heart attacks across genders and ages.
So what can your body handle in order to avoid a heart attack? Well, the answer is simple; your body can handle all foods provided you consume them in moderation. Take an example of alcohol, once thought to be evil and unhealthy is now being reviewed as a cure for certain ailments and even beneficial for your health provided you drink the right kind in moderation.
There are no miracle foods that will help you to last an eternity, there are however certain foods that ensure that you do not contract any diseases or illnesses.
Vegetables in the raw form or sautéed or steamed lightly are the perfect food. They provide your body with the essential nutrients and minerals that your body needs and keep you fit. Potatoes are another form of food that can be healthy; the trick is to eat it in the right preparation. Eating fries will cause an increase in your cholesterol but in the mashed or boiled form they provide your body an array of healthy vitamins.
Oatmeal is another power food. It is high in fiber and hence makes a great breakfast meal that helps to keep you satiated throughout the day. Avoid sugar coated cereal as the refined sugar does not add value to the meal and can lead to diabetes if the amount of sugar ingested is higher that required.
