Foods that Help to Cure Head Aches and Migraines

A migraine can range from a minor head ache that comes and goes to an ache that lasts for weeks that shows no signs of ceasing. Several foods help to cure migraines and food therapy has been proved extremely effective. Though these are natural and safe they must be teamed with medication to have a faster and longer lasting relief. If you are not particularly fond of the foods that are recommended then you must have a few supplements to complete the void.

Migraines are caused by acute or extreme stress, weather conditions, poor diet, lack of sleep and improper ventilation system.

Fish are an extremely rich source of omega 3 fatty acids and help in curing migraines. They have been proved to reduce the amount of pain causing hormones in the body; thereby taking care of the migraines directly. Eat a few ounces of fatty fish like sardines, trout or tuna daily.

Fish oil is a healthy option as well. They are available in the form of capsules and pills. You must have 1.2 grams of fish oil daily, it adds up to approximately 2 to 3 capsules daily.

Green leafy vegetables like spinach are known to be an effective cure in helping to cure migraines.

Herbs like lavender and chamomile are known to reduce the stress producing hormone and help in curing head aches.

Eating foods rich in magnesium is also known to cure headaches and migraines. Eating 1 to 2 servings of soy milk, eggs, sea foods and black beans help to get rid of migraines completely.

Prepare a blend of lavender oil with sweet almond oil and add a few drops of chamomile to the mixture. Add a few drops of pepper mint oils and have the concoction boil for a few minutes in the room that you sleep in. the fumes will help to get rid of the pain immediately. If you are unable to heat it in the room you are in then add the mix to a diffuser and breathe in deeply to get the benefits of the aromatic oils.
