Fungal infection – learn herbal cures

A variety of widespread and constant skin conditions and infections that are caused by fungus is collectively called as fungal infection. Unrelenting itching sensation, cracking and irritation of the skin, red, moist and tiny blisters of flare-up on the skin are some of the typical signs and symptoms of skin infection due to fungus. Fungal infection sometimes spread underneath the nails causing the raise of nail bed and appear as a soft white area. Ringworm is another form of common fungal infection. As the name suggests, it appears on the skin in the circular form. The area inside the circle tends to be red and scaly in appearance and slowly heals from the inside of the ring outwardly.

Garlic, myrrh, black walnut and the oil of the castor beans are some of the herbal and natural fungicides that can effectively combat fungal infection. The anti-parasitic properties of Aloe Vera help in the cooling of the irritated skin when applied to that area. Tea tree oil, Acerola, burdock, Echinacea, cat’s claw, fenugreek, pokeroot, figwort, turmeric, thyme, chamomile, yellow dock are some of the essential herbs that are responsible for reducing and treating fungal infection.

Garlic: One has to liquify or mash raw garlic in a blender and apply it to the affected area with the help of a cotton ball. This needs to be done thrice daily, Intake of raw garlic also helps but applying garlic topically helps in the yielding faster results and recovery from fungal infection.

Tea tree oil: Tea tree oil is a good herbal remedy of curing fungal infection and should be applied directly on the infection thrice daily. This oil is not for consumption. If one has a sensitive skin, this oil has to be mixed and diluted with any vegetable oil before applying to the skin.

Chamomile: Chamomile can be used both internally and externally and has anti-inflammatory as well as anti-bacterial properties.  It is an herbal fungicidal.

One must drink Chamomile tea once per day and the used tea bags are to be applied directly to the affected area. Chamomile tea is particularly useful for treating vaginal yeast infection.

Black Walnut tincture and henna can also be used as effective herbal extracts for healing fungal infections.
