Get Fit With Daily Activities

Not all of us have the time to go to the gym and follow a strict exercise routine. Though we are all aware of the fact that exercise is good for the body; (it helps to keep us fit and healthy) we are unable to commit to an exercise regime. While most of us are anxious to tone our bodies the rest of us are looking at shedding a few pounds. If exercising is not something that you can commit to then there are a few activities in your daily schedule that will help you out.

Some suggestions:

Adults are expected to get 3 to 4 hours of aerobics exercise every week. This means that you would need to invest 4 hours a week walking, jogging, doing cardio exercises or riding a bike. If this is not something that you can commit to then you must look at alternatives in order to get the right amount of exercise. I recommend walking to work or to the grocery store instead of driving. If your job requires you to work at your desk all day then you must try and stand up occasionally and walk for a few minutes at regular intervals. Use the stairs at work instead of the elevators or escalators.

If you have a pet at home then take it for a walk every night after dinner. The few minutes of walking around the block will suffice as exercise.

When you are waiting for water to boil or when you are cooking you can do a few jumping jacks or sit ups. Most of us love our television time; it is the time when we relax and indulge in junk food. This is where you can make a huge difference. Quit eating junk food; it is the simplest and most effective way to stay fit. In addition to this you can do sit ups or jumping jacks during commercials; this means that during a 3 hour film you will get close to 45 minutes of exercise.

When you are talking on the phone walk around the house; this will help to burn more calories than you would if you were sitting down.
