Handy Tips to Prevent Hangovers
Binge drinking is fun; but it comes with a huge price tag. A heavy head the next morning with a constant feeling of nausea are some of the common side effects of a hangover. While it is not always that you can give up the urge to drink; if you are going to be binging then there are a few precautions that you can use to make sure that you do not have a hangover the next day because there are no cure for a hangover.
Time is the best healer for a hangover. When you are drinking you must take your time and avoid gulping down your drinks. This will help your body to absorb the alcohol in smaller portions. Do not mix your drinks with carbonated beverages as they are high in sugars. These sugars cause the dehydration in your body and are the main reason for the hangover to set in. Fruit juices have the same impact when clubbed with alcohol so they must be prevented. Pace yourself when you are drinking; do not attempt to drink constantly.
You must eat before and while you are drinking. Eating before helps to fill your stomach so you automatically avoid binging on the other hand eating while you are drinking helps to prevent any symptoms that a hangover has to offer. Eating potatoes are considered to be the best snack before and while drinking as the flavonoid in the potatoes absorb the alcohol and reduce the risk of dehydration and nausea. It also allows you to drink more before you reach your saturation point.
If you are doing Vodka or Tequila shots then you must chase each shot with a glass of water and some food. This makes your odds of having a hangover pretty slim.
You must also have an aspirin before you start drinking. The aspirin will help to prevent a headache when start drinking. If you binge more than your stomach can hold then the aspirin will you help to prevent headaches and heaviness.
