Most people recommend orange juice to get rid of dehydration, fatigue, boost your energy levels, increase your metabolism, but is this juice really that powerful or have we hyped it up to a point where we use it to cure any ailment whether or not it has curative powers.
Well, it does. It is the most popular breakfast drink by a mile. A survey states tat 93 % of the general population drink orange juice as a breakfast drink. Honestly, it goes with just about any kind of breakfast and is available in several different variations; yet freshly squeezed juice is the best option. A simple glass of the juice is equal to 5 fruit servings.
Orange juice has several nutrients and minerals in it; as a result it helps to improve your immune system. It contains folate which helps to increase growth of skin cells and blood cells. This helps to lower the inflammation that is related to heart diseases.
The juice is the richest source of Vitamin C. This helps n cell repair and prevents damage. In addition, it helps to fight some forms of cancer by neutralizing free radicals.
Oranges have high levels of magnesium and potassium. Both of these are related to lowering blood pressure and drinking a glass of the juice daily will definitely help to attain that.
Research has also proved that the juice works as an anti inflammatory agent thereby helping to relieve any joints pain. Persons suffering from arthritis can benefit a great deal if they drink a glass of orange juice daily.
While there are so many benefits to this wonder juice, one must also realize that you must drink this in moderation. Too much of anything is a bad idea and the same can be said for orange juice. It has huge amounts of sugar and hence you stand to pack on the pounds if you load up on it. In addition to that if you are buying packs or cans then they have added sugars which increase the risk. Limit your consumption to one or two glasses a day.
Does this wonder juice have any negatives?
Well, yes and no. It is highly acidic in nature and hence if you drink when you have an upset stomach or feeling uneasy then chances are that you will feel even worse after drinking it. In addition to this it is known to cause tooth damage and hence you must rinse your mouth well after drinking this juice.
