
Tea tree oil is a product of Australia and it is here that the benefits of it originated. The leaves of the tree were first used in the treatment of skin ailments. It wasn’t until Captain Cook’s sailors used the leaves to brew tea that it received the name. In the purest form the oil is light yellow or clear. In terms of dandruff, use tea tree oil to massage your scalp twice a week. Keep the oil on your hair overnight and then wash off in the morning with warm water. This will help to effectively reduce the dandruff from your scalp.
For those suffering from lice, mix coconut oil and tea tree oil in the ratio of 1: 10 and use it on your hair daily for a week. You can use it every night and wash off in the morning, within a week you will be free of lice and prevent the lice from coming back.
Amongst the skin care ailments that are known to be cured by tea tree oil, acne seems to benefit the most. Several topical based acne creams used the oil as one of the main products to help the disease. Simply mix the oil with Aloe Vera gel and apply it to the affected area and you will see a change in the texture of your skin within weeks.
