Constipation is a common disorder. Lack of water in your body or ignoring your body’s signals leads to constipation. It is important to be able to understand the signals that your body sends out daily and not to ignore them. Constipation can be a serious disorder and can be extremely painful when you are trying to eliminate the waste from your body. There are several herbs that will help you in your fight against constipation.

You need to first ensure that your body gets an adequate supply of water in order for it to be able to have regular bowel movements. Once this is taken care of and you still suffer from constipation then you must make sure that you look at alternative remedies to help you out.

The Aloe Vera plant is extremely helpful. Drinking the juice of the plant extract will ensure that you have regular bowel movements. The fatty acids in the plant help to increase the secretion of digestive juices and this in turn ensures the elimination of waste from the body.

Fenugreek seeds are also extremely effective as a digestive tonic. If the constipation is causing stomach aches and acid reflux then you must boil a few seeds in water. Let is simmer for a few minutes till the water turns a light muddy brown color. Then filter the seeds and add a spoon of honey and drink the juice. This helps to get rid of any pain in the stomach and also ensure a bowel movement within a few hours.

The Indian Gooseberry is also extremely effective as a cure for constipation. Simply eat the fruit or use the leaves in food preparations to get the benefits that they have to offer. You may also juice the fruit and spice it up with salt and black pepper. Drink the juice in the morning and before bed at night to be able to have regular bowel movements.

In addition to these herbs you can also depend on cinnamon to help you out in your dilemma. Add cinnamon to your tea or coffee and sip on this aromatic herb to get relief from stomach aches and constipation.
