Herbal Remedies For Constipation
Constipation is the commonest problem and also has simplest remedies. It can occur for many reasons like having fiber-less diet, not doing exercise, less fluid intake. Some conditions like diabetes, cancer and underactive thyroid can also be the causes of constipation.
There are many herbal remedies for constipation. Take castor oil at bed time with ginger tea in hot water. Amount of fiber should be increased in the diet. Yoga and meditation can also be helpful. Polished flour products and processed foods should be avoided. Regular exercise is needed along with swimming and jogging.
Use Psyllium husk which is the small seed of plantain. It consists of a fiber known as mucilage. Mucilage absorbs fluid in gut. After combining with water it expands and added mass in the stool. It also helps in removal of toxins and sticky mucus. Drinking at least eight glass of water is in a day is good for health. Coconut, dandelion, apricots, chicory have laxatives so these are also helpful in constipation. Fruits like grapes, olive, pineapple, turnips, mango and papayas are also good to be eaten in constipation.
Linseed which is also called flax has vital fatty acids and fiber. Water is also needed to be taken along with it. Senna has an influential natural laxative known as anthraquinone. It is good to take it with cloves or ginger. One should not have these anthraquinone laxatives over long time as it is very strong.
Drinking warm milk at the bed time or drinking Luke-warm water many times a day can also be helpful. Triphala is one of the good remedy for the problem of constipation. It consists of three herbs haritaki, bibhitaki and amalaki. It strengthens intestine and stomach muscles. Triphla is one of the good remedy for constipation. There is one extremely good remedy for constipation just has warm sesame oil every night. Four teaspoonfuls will be sufficient. Abdomen should also be massaged with sesame oil. Continue this for 3 months. Some people have long term problem of constipation they should have warm milk with pure ghee in every night, it will be really helpful.
