Herbal Treatments to Improve the Texture of Your Hair

July 1, 2009

Herbal treatments are gaining popularity in the treatment of several ailments and they are now making their way to the beauty counters as well. Herbs are natural, gentle and cost effective and hence there is no fear in using them for there is no fear of side effects. There are no cosmetic products that will stimulate the same effect as herbs. They are effective in the cure of dandruff, preventing sun damage to the hair as well as promoting the healthy growth of new hair.

In the treatment of dandruff one must use a blend of chamomile flowers, a cup of burdock roots, a cup of rose petals and apple cider vinegar. Keep the pot in the sun for a few days in order for the oils to seep and blend and infuse with each other. After a few days remove the mix from the sun and drain out the oils. Use this oil to massage the scalp and keep it on for a few hours. Wash it with gentle shampoo and you will notice a reduced amount of dandruff almost immediately.

If you are suffering from hair loss then you must boil mint leaves in a cup of coconut oil and let the oils blend together. Drain out the unwanted substances to get pure oil. Massage the scalp with this oil regularly. Also you may pour boiling water over birch leaves and then use the water to rinse your hair. You will notice a lesser amount of hair fall after the first wash and subsequently lesser hair fall after every other wash.

If your hair loss is leading to balding then you must consume green tea twice a day. The tea inhabits the enzymes from causing loss of hair.

In order to improve the texture of your hair you must also prevent combing or brushing it immediately after a wash or when your tresses are wet. Doing so will cause your hair to break either at the root or mod way. It also causes friction which is not good for the texture of your hair.

Do not waste too much money on shampoos as they have a very little effect on the texture of your hair. Wash your hair with regular shampoo that suits the texture and length.
