Home Made Treatments for Split Ends
You are at risk of split ends if you make use of several products on your hair and constantly expose your hair to hot treatments and color jobs. The dangerous part about split ends is that they are difficult to detect and they cause wide spread damage to your hair. If you are in a phase where you are growing out your hair and hence not cutting it regularly then you need to take care to avoid split ends.
You must check the tips of your locks for split ends regularly. If the tips of your hair are dry and brittle then you must pay keen attention to your mane. If you notice your hair getting too dry then you must use a good conditioner on your hair. Use a wash out conditioner and when your hair dries you must use a leave in conditioner as well. The twin conditioning routine will help to lock in moisture and prevent your hair from getting dry and brittle and prevent the risk of splitting.
Add a few drops of lavender oil and cedar wood oil to your shampoo before you use it. The oils help to increase blood circulation in the scalp thereby making the hair stronger from the roots. This helps to promote healthy growth of hair.
You must deep condition your hair regularly. Massage your hair with oil and then soak a towel in warm water and wring out the excess oils. Then wrap the towel around your hair so that the heat from the water seeps into your scalp and let the oils nourish it.
If the split ends are moving high into the length of your hair then it is important that you trim your hair to the length of the splits. The higher the hair splits the more stress you will be causing your hair.
With regards to diet, you must eat foods that are rich in protein to improve the texture of your hair. Lack of protein in some cases is the cause for the hair splitting and hence one must take care to make sure that the diet that you consume is rich in protein. Foods that are rich in protein include eggs, fish and milk.
