
Sometime people become very sensitive to the surroundings and show abnormal reactions to certain things found in their surrounding. This abnormal sensitivity is termed as allergy and occurs in response to allergens or the pollens present in our immediate surroundings.
The allergy begins, when the allergen is swallowed, inhaled or comes in contact with the skin of a sensitive person. Any part of the body can be affected by the allergies. An allergic person can be sensitive to any substance or conditions. Common allergens found in environment are: pollens, mold spores, house dust mites, animal foods, insect bites or stings, plants, insect spores, latex rubber, viruses, bacteria, medications and environmental conditions such as cold temperatures.
Allergic reactions occur when the immune system of the human body recognizes non-harmful substance as probably harmful. Some people inherit specific allergies from their parents while other develops them during their life-time. People who eat processed and refined food and take lots of stress are more to allergies as their immune system remains weak.
Allergies can either be acute or chronic. Common symptoms of allergies are headaches, migraine, dizziness, irritability, nervousness, eczema, hay fever, runny nose, vomiting, diarrhea, asthma, swelling of face and eyes and shortness of breath. Some symptoms of allergies can be minimized by home-made remedies.
Mix few drops of castor oil in either fruit or vegetable juice or plain water. Take it empty stomach each morning. It is beneficial for relieving allergies of intestinal tract, skin and nasal passages. Lime is considered good for almost all types of common allergies.
Taking mixture of lime and honey in lukewarm water, first thing every morning helps the body systems to release toxins from the body. It enhances the immune system of the body and brings relief from allergies. People who suffer from skin rashes, digestive disorders, or asthma can eat one or two bananas to get relief from some forms of allergies. Some juices of vegetable like carrot, beet and cucumber are also beneficial in reducing allergic symptoms.
