Chicken pox is a highly contagious disease and is common amongst children between 2 to 4 years. There are vaccinations available to reduce the intensity of the attack as they can be quiet severe. There are a few cases of adults getting chicken pox; however if they were not exposed to it as children then chances of them getting the viral disease at this age is high. It can spread through the air by breathing the same air of an affected person. The falling scabs can also cause the spread of the disease.

Common symptoms of the viral disease include mild fever, itching due to the rash caused, redness on the skin surface, headaches, loss of appetite and weakness.

There is no drug to cure the viral infection but it stays its course and vanishes when it’s done. There are a few remedies that help to relieve you of the constant itching and burning sensation.

-Firstly, do not itch the area as it will cause the rash to spread. The rash is in form of tiny boils that are full of puss like liquid. Scratching the area will only cause the spread of the infection.

-Do not eat any fried foods as the oil will aggravate your condition and intensify the rash. Eat boiled foods like vegetables and eats lots of fruits.

-Chicken pox tends to leave nasty scars if proper care is not taken. Apply sandalwood oil on the affected skin from the day the rash appears till it disappears to avoid scarring.

-Drink plenty of juices and keep yourself hydrated. Drink plenty of water as well.

-Apply honey to the affected skin. This will reduce the itching and make sure that the skin is left blemish free and healthy after the rash has subsided.

-Avoid exposure to water as the water tends to wash away the natural surface oils and leaves your skin dry. Keep your skin well moisturized.

-Aloe Vera is extremely cooling and can be used on the affected skin since it is a natural product. Drinking the juice of the plant
