While some people are born with naturally dark skin others suffer from a condition where their naturally light skin gets dark due to pigmentation or tanning. Lighter skin when it gets pigmented is more prone to age spots and blemishes. A few simple techniques can help you to attain your previous glow within a few days and almost no effort.

The best thing you can do is to drink lots of water. Substitute all other drinks with water. The water helps to flush out the toxins from your body and leaves your skin well hydrated. Hydrated skin looks healthy and well nourished. You can choose to have fresh fruit juices as well. Make sure you stay away from caffeine as it snatches the moisture from your skin and leaves it looking dull and lifeless.

Grate a tomato and add a few drops of lime juice to it. Apply this all over your face and wash it off with ice cold water for a glowing look within a few days. Make sure you do this twice daily.

An extremely effective way to get rid of a tan is to grind a few almonds and apply the paste to your skin and keep it over night. Wash it off in the morning and you will reveal a tan free look.

Use a spoon full of fresh cream and add a pinch of turmeric to it. Massage the paste onto your skin and leave it for a few minutes till it dries. Wash it off with cold water and pat dry your face. Follow up with dabbing rose water all over your face for a refreshing feeling.

Beat an egg and add a few spoons of sugar to it. Whish the mixture till you get a white foam. Apply this foam all over your face. The white of the egg will acts to tighten your skin as well as gets rid of blemishes that may have been caused due to the tan.

A simple yet effective method is to wash your face with milk. The lactic acid in the milk reacts with your skin and gets rid of all discoloration.
