Home Remedies For Dry Hair

December 11, 2008

Dry hair usually appear dull and can make a person look older. Regular coloring and saloon treatment can make hair drier. There are many home remedies for dry hair.

Warm oil treatment can be recommended by hair professional for dry hair, though a person can do this treatment by simple coconut or olive oil. Keep a bowl of olive oil into hot water; apply this from roots to ends. Wash it with warm water after half an hour. Dry hair can be due to many factors like Hair dye, harsh chemicals, harsh shampoo, hair perms, swimming pool with chlorine, blow dryer overuse, and too much sun exposure. Add gram flour into coconut milk, apply on hair and massage gently, wash it after five minutes. Massage with castor oil, coconut oil, and olive oil or lavender oil, it improves blood circulation.

Honey is also very good moisturizer. Mix honey with warm water and apply it after shampooing. This gives shiny, soft hairs. Add egg yolk into warm water and then mix it into the egg white, apply this on wet hairs and massage gently, and then wash with cold water. Spray a little beer by a pump bottle before styling, this can make hair manageable. Mix mashed avocado with coconut oil, apply for 10-15 min and then wash with cool water. Add small amount of baking soda in the regular shampoo and rinse it. This is also useful for dry hair.

Mash an over ripped banana soft, rotten avocado, apply this on hairs and wash it after 15 minutes. A baby shampoo makes hair less dry than others. Wash hair in every other day. Wash hair properly after shampooing as left shampoo can make the hair drier.

Prepare home made conditioner by mixing olive oil, sandalwood with rosemary and aloe Vera gel, apply the mixture and wash it after one hour. While using conditioner apply it first at the ends as hair is driest there. One of the effective home remedy for dry hair is Jojoba oil as it penetrates into hair shaft and lubricates hair. Pour 4 tablespoon of jojoba oil in a bowl and message gently over the wet hair. Wrap hair with towel then shampoo it.
