Home Remedies For Measles Rash

The measles virus generally attacks the children more than the grown ups. More than 60% of the children around the world suffer from this highly contagious disease every year.An individual who is affected with measles virus usually feels tired and feverish.

Sometimes with the increase in body temperature, the patient may suffer from loose motion, headache, dizziness and loss of appetite which ultimately leads to weight loss. If the patient is deprived of proper care and medication at this stage, this dangerously transmittable disease can lead to very high fever, accompanied by figments of the imagination and enlargement of the brain.

In the early stages, measles rash appear on the face and the neck. But slowly, within 4 to 5 days, the dark pink rashes spread all over the patient’s body. The rashes remain red for a few days but after a week or so, the marks turn darker.

A child with poor immunity system becomes the easy target of measles virus. Hence, proper diet and healthy living condition is very important during the growth period of the child.

Here are some natural cures to measles rash:

Orange juice: Orange juice is the best drink for a measles rash patient. It activates the taste buds on the tongue and increases the urge for food and water. Try to give at least 3-4 glasses of orange juice to the patient at this period.

Fenugreek seeds: Soak 2 tablespoons of fenugreek seeds in a glass of water for 2 hours. The patient must take 3 teaspoons of this water after every 30 minutes. This helps in eradicating the measles rashes.

Bitter gourd juice: A measles patient must drink a glass of bitter juice with a few drops of honey and a pinch of turmeric powder. This drink is helpful in treating measles and eradicating the rashes. The bitter gourd juice also helps to decrease the weakness of the body.

Lemon: If the patient drinks at least 2 cups of diluted lemon juice then it will surely help him to gain his desire for food and water.

As this is a highly contagious disease, it is better to keep the patient in a separate room which is clean and properly ventilated. If the above home remedies do not work, then it is advisable to consult the physician as early as possible.
