Oily skin leads to acne, pimples, zits and scars. These must be taken care of to reduce the occurrence and frequency of the breakouts. Fortunately, there are a few things that you can do in the comfort of your home to take care of your agony, I mean acne!
Firstly an oily T zone needs to be exfoliated well with almonds or walnut based face scrubs. Use a face pack of fuller’s earth to soak the excess oils from your skin and T zone. Use a non alcoholic toner or astringent. Steaming your face once a week can also help to reduce the oil from your skin.
Wash your face with milk once a week. The lactic acid from the milk reacts with your skin to reduce the spots and scars on your face caused by acne and pimples. It also helps to reduce the dark circles under your eyes.
Avoid using make up when not necessary. Keep your face free of any products in order to let the skin breathe. If you must use cosmetics then keep it light and simple. Avoid layering and caking your face with too many products. Choose oil free foundations and powders and opt for products that are natural rather than chemical.
Use a mixture of equal parts of honey and lemon on your face to reduce the oil and take care of scars. The lemon acts as a natural bleach that helps to eliminate scars from your skin.
Avoid eating spicy foods, fried foods and caffeine. Excess oils in your food add to the oil build up on your face. Be careful when you are wiping your mouth after eating. Make sure you do not use the same tissue that you use on your oily lips on other parts of your face. This will cause the oil to spread to different areas on your face and cause a breakout.
Always use a sunscreen when you expose your skin to the sun as oily skin is more prone to sun burns.
