Fenugreek seeds are very useful in curing all the digestive disorders including peptic ulcers. About two to three tablespoons of fenugreek seeds and a pinch of soil can be boiled together in a cup of water. This mixture can be cooled and taken 2 to 3 times a day for better results.


Banana is found to be excellent in curing peptic ulcer. Certain compound present in banana can very effectively help in neutralizing the hyper acidic condition of the stomach hence relieving from the peptic ulcers. Thus banana should be included in the daily diet of the person suffering from peptic ulcer.


Leaves of wood apple are known to be valuable in the treatment of peptic ulcer. About fifteen grams of the wood apple leaves can be soaked in water overnight. This water can be taken early in the morning in an empty stomach and can be continued for 8 to 10 days which will bring a relief from the discomfort and pain due to peptic ulcers.

Lime is very effective in treating the peptic ulcer.  Lime water can be taken in small amounts several times a day as a part of the treatment. The citric content of the lime is helpful in making the digestion easy. Another important home remedy in the case of peptic ulcer is cabbage.


About 250 grams of fresh cabbage can be chopped and boiled in 500 ml of water. This water can be cooled later and can be taken 2 to 3 times a day for the best results of treatment. Cabbage juice is also valuable and this can be either taken alone or in a combination with freshly prepared carrot juice.


Drumstick leaves can be considered important in the treatment of peptic ulcer. A paste can be made by grounding about 15 grams of drumstick leaves in a cup of curd and this can be taken daily which is a good home remedy. Vegetable and fruit juices are found to be beneficial in the treatment of peptic ulcers.

Fresh vegetable juices like carrot juice, cabbage juice, spinach juice etc. are considered as important in the treatment of peptic ulcers. A combination of 300 ml of carrot juice along with 200 ml of spinach juice can be taken as this is found to be working as a good home remedy for peptic ulcers.

Almonds are another home remedy for the peptic ulcers. Almond milk can be extracted by blending a hand full of almonds in a mixer blender. Almond milk can neutralize the hyper acidic condition of your stomach. Goat’s milk is an ancient medicine for peptic ulcers and can be used in curing it completely. One or two glasses of raw goat’s milk can be consumed 2 to 3 times a day for the best results of treatment.

Taking a glass of comfrey tea can be beneficial in the treatment of peptic ulcers. Taking barley water in small amounts for several times in a day can also be helpful in healing the peptic ulcers. Aniseeds are important in curing peptic or stomach ulcers. About a teaspoon full of aniseeds can be boiled in a cup of water for 5 minutes. The decoction can be then covered with a lid and stored overnight. This can be then filtered and taken early in the morning which can help in curing the ulcers.

Indian gooseberry is one of the commonly used home remedy to cure peptic ulcers. Three to four gooseberries can be sliced and heated to dry on a pan.

Crush them into powder and then mix it with a little of sugar and psyllium husk and a teaspoon of this mixture can be taken about 3 times a day. Another great home remedy for peptic ulcer is licorice. An infusion can be prepared by soaking dried licorice roots in water. This infusion can be taken 2 to 3 times a day as this can help in reducing the irritation and pain due to peptic ulcers.

The person having peptic ulcer should not take junk foods, oily and spicy foods. Milk, water and fresh fruit juices can be taken in plenty and can be included sufficiently in the diet of ulcer patients. Fruits like raspberry, orange and water melon can be included in the daily diets of the patient. A stress free life should be followed which is one of the best methods to prevent the problems like ulcers and acidity.

Thus small amounts food items can be taken 3 to 4 times a day and should be chewed properly. Doing mild exercises and taking a walk in the morning and evening can be beneficial in preventing all the health problems especially digestion related problems. Proper eating and taking a nutrition rich well balanced food is essential in keeping you fit and healthy.
