Home Remedies for Snoring
April 10, 2009
There is nothing worse than sleeping next to a bear cub that snores all night in your ears. Worse still is if you are the bear cub that gets laughed at every morning by your spouse. Snoring is basically a sound that your respiratory track produces while you are sleeping. You are unaware of these sounds and they tend to be second nature to you. It is others who suffer from your disorder more than you do.
Some of the reasons why people snore are because of the muscle tone of the tongue, certain medicines, over indulgence of alcohol and age. Snoring is accompanied by heavy breathing which causes you to wake up extremely tired in the morning and feel as if you have not slept at all. Fortunately there are a few home remedies that help to cure you from this embarrassing disorder.
Home remedies
-It is often observed that obese or overweight people suffer from snoring. The best way to get rid of it then is to loose weight. It will serve a dual purpose of getting rid of the snoring while keeping you fit as well.
-Another way to get rid of snoring is to add a bunch of sage in boiling water. Let it steep and drink it before going to sleep. It helps to give you as well as the people who share your bedroom with you a good night’s sleep.
-Quitting smoking helps to lessen and eventually stop smoking. The smoke tends to cause congestion in your nasal passage that gives rise to smoking. Follow the same with alcohol. The alcohol that you consume causes relaxation and softening of the tissues in your throat and gives way to snoring. Reducing the intake of alcohol can lessen and eventually stop the snoring.
-Olive oil is known to have curative powers with this disorder. Simply sip a few drops of olive oil before you go to bed. Doing this daily will get rid of the snoring within 3 weeks.
