Home Remedies For Under Eye Dark Circles
Don’t you just hate looking at yourself in the mirror when you wake up with botchy skin and dark circles for company. Oh, how you wish you had gone easy on the booze, or even the late night partying that kept you up till dawn. Just the thought of going through the whole day looking like you got into a fist fight with Mike Tyson, is enough to make you shudder and lock yourself in your room.
While some lucky ones can do that, most of us with jobs can’t afford to not go to work, simply on account of looking dreadful. So, to pass off as presentable, more often than not, most of us end up pasting our face with inches of make-up. While this may carry you through the work day, but once you get back and remove the paint, you realise that you actually look worse, than when you woke up in the morning. Also believe it or not, make-up hastily applied on an already tired and worn out face damages your skin badly, as far from recovering from your previous night of merry-making, your skin has simply been unable to breathe at all.
Therefore, the next time you wake up with dark, puffy eyes the best thing to do is head to the kitchen, open your fridge and reach for either a potato, tomato or even a cucumber. Cut thin slices of any one of these vegetables, get back into bed and put these on your eyes for at least 20 minutes. Do this on a daily basis, and trust me you will wake up a different person, with bright, sparkling eyes, ready to take on the world.
If the reason you have dark under eye circles is exhaustion or stress, or even dehydration of the body, apart from vegetables you can try putting used tea bags on your eyes. Instead of throwing old tea bags, simply put them in the fridge to cool, and apply them on your eyes for about 15 minutes before stepping out. Even cotton balls soaked in cold rose water, when placed on tired eyes helps refresh them.
Many people also massage almond oil on their eyes to get rid of puffy eyes. Even honey, mint paste and lime juice when applied liberally can improve the condition of your eyes, and in the long run delay the appearance of wrinkles. But make sure whatever you apply, do it very gently, as the under eye area is perhaps one of the most sensitive and delicate in our body.
However, remedies apart the best way to deal with these harrowing under eye circles is to simply get eight hours of deep sleep every night, and drink loads and loads of water. Add to this a good healthy balanced diet and usage of some good quality sunglasses, and you can ensure you age gracefully, without those ugly dark blemishes making any appearance under your eyes.
Remember countless people believe that your eyes are the windows to your soul, so don’t let tried puffy eyes fool people into thinking you are some dull, tired person, or even the opposite, that you are some crazy party animal. Take charge of your eyes and their blemishes now, so in the future you still look radiant at 45.
