Irrespective of what you have read or heard being advertised, wrinkles cannot be cured. They can at the best be delayed, and then faded. This is because in most women wrinkles are a function of age, and in others it is sign of bad upkeep. So if you are in your mid 30s and already suffering from thin, sagging skin then instead of worrying about looking like your grandmother, take some proactive steps to minimise the damage you have inflicted on yourself over the years.
To begin with, wrinkles on the face, especially around the eyes are the most common cause of concern. And their reasons could be varied, from excess smoking and daily pollution, to overexposure to television, sunlight or even make-up.
Incidentally animal products such as milk, eggs and honey work the best to tone sagging skin. In fact most of the anti-wrinkle creams available in the market also contain synthetic versions of these minerals and vitamins present in farm produce.
If you long for the soft, smooth skin you once had, then try applying egg whites on your face, especially around your eyes. Eggs are known for their collection of vitamins and minerals, and work equally well, if not better, when applied raw. You can try mixing your raw egg with a little cold milk or rose water, or else you may yourself smell like an egg the whole day.
Also odor free oils, such as pure coconut oil and castor oil, help tighten skin. When massaged gently on the face and neck every night before sleeping, these can give any expensive wrinkle cream a run for their money. On constant application, you yourself can feel the difference within two weeks.
Some people swear that fruit juices, such as those of pineapples, grapes, papaya and apples, when applied as a paste and washed off after 20 minutes, tones the skin, making it tighter, and thereby restoring the skin’s lost collagen. Bananas simply mashed and applied on the face with a dash of honey, are also known to serve as a good face toning pack.
In fact, you can make your own rich moisturizing cream that will keep wrinkles at bay. Mix a good amount of fresh milk cream, honey and coconut oil. Run it all in a blender till smooth. Apply and leave for 20 minutes, before washing it off with cold water. Try this and you will fall in love with your skin all over again, as this concoction hydrates your skin cells, giving an instant softness and glow.
Should you be serious about damage control, then along with the above remedies, you need to go on a nutritious diet, and put a limit to all your junk food, oily and spicy food intake as well. Early morning walks are very good for your skin, so try getting up early. Also, start exercising. You don’t need to join a gym, just a jog, a long walk or even a few stretches daily all go a long way in aiding blood circulation in the body, a must for healthy skin.
Apart from these protect your skin from the harsh sunlight, quit excessive drinking and smoking, and lastly cut out stress from your life, learn to relax and enjoy the small pleasures of life. After all you will look only as young as you feel.
