Kidney stones are a common cause of agony. There are several ways to cure them as well as to prevent them.

Preventive measure

Kidney stones are formed due to lack of water in your system. A simple way to tackle this problem is to drink plenty of water daily. Avoid drinking mineral water and drinking flavored water or carbonated drinks. There is no substitute for water.

-If you are having a late dinner; then keep it light and simple. Avoid eating heavy meals late at night as the fats that you gain from the food are not broken down and they play havoc on your system later.

-Don’t eat more than 3 ounces of meats at each meal. Red meats are associated with kidney stones.

-Avoid excess calcium in your food from milk and cheese and increase the amount of magnesium in your food. This can be gained from brown rice, potatoes, corn, oats, barley and bran. Get as much Vitamin C as you can.

-Reduce the amount of tea and coffee your drink daily. Watch your salt and sugar intake as well. Drink fresh fruit juices and eat plenty of fruits and green vegetables.
