
White and lighter garments have a way of attracting unwanted dirt and attention onto them. Your classic white shirt may be your most priced possession and also may be the one that needs more attention than any other garment in your closet.
If you have perspiration stains on your whites then a few simple home remedies will take care of it. Stains will normally be on the cuffs and collar. Place a towel on the kitchen floor and put the white garment on top of it. Make a mixture of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Mix with a toothbrush till it forms a paste like mixture. Brush the mixture onto the stained area as if you were brushing your teeth. Keep the mixture on the garment for a few minutes and then wash off with cold water and watch the stains disappear.
If you have blood stains on your garments that does not make you a suspect for the crime scene in the neighborhood so don’t be afraid. Nicks, cuts and bruises tend to cause us long lasting damages if they stain garments. If you have stained your whites then you must take care of it immediately. Firstly pour hot water into a washbasin and soak the stained area into the basin. Let the hot water work on the area to remove the traces of blood. Next use a few drops of lemon juice on the stained area and rub it gently, make sure that you do not cause the stain to spread. Finally wash off the garment with soap and water. Do not machine wash it for the first time after it has been stained.
Perfume and deodorant stains are fairly tough to get rid off especially since they already contain chemicals in them. Soak your garments in white vinegar if it has been stained by your perfume. The vinegar acts as a natural bleach and gets rid of the stubborn stains. Never rub the fabric as you risk spreading the stain further.
