There are several factors which lead to your skin getting dry. While some have dry skin due to genetics, other causes of dry skin include change in weather, aging, over active thyroid and a poor skin care routine. Dry skin is normally tender and thin and thus it is more prone to flaking and cracking. The good news is that dry skin rarely breaks out in pimples. However, if the skin is rough then it will age quicker.
There are several face masks that you can apply to your skin in order to nourish and moisturize it. One of the easiest and most effective remedies for dry skin is to apply fresh cream on your skin and leave it on for a few minutes. Wash it off with warm water and then pat it dry. Follow up with a rich moisturizing cream or lotion. A mix of vegetable oil with lanolin oil mixed with cucumber juice must be massaged into your skin for 20 minutes and let it dry there after. Rinse the dried mask with warm water and spray your face with rose water to nourish your skin.
If you have dry skin and this is the cause of pigmentation on your face then you must use honey to take care of this issue. Mix a spoon of honey with equal measures of cottage cheese and vegetable oil and apply this paste on your face and throat and then let it dry and wash it off after 20 minutes. You can rinse it with cold water or with an herbal tea bag soaked in water. If the dry skin is causing wrinkles on your face and neck then you need to massage your face and throat with warm olive oil and then have a warm bath immediately after. You can also add honey to the oil and use it to massage your skin.
The oil helps to get rid of the wrinkle formation while the honey nourishes and moisturizes the skin. If your skin is dry due to the change in weather and the dry air is causing your skin to peel then you must use a mask of honey and yogurt on your skin. Apply it and let it stay on your face for 20 minutes. Since the yogurt is in the semi liquid form the mask will not dry. Wash it off with warm water.
