Eyes itching are a sign of an allergic reaction. This make be related to the food you’ve eaten or something in your environment that has aggravated this condition. Either ways they cause a burning sensation in your eyes that cause a lot of discomfort.

If your eyes are itching and they are becoming red then you must wash it off with cold water. Splash a few drops of ice cold water in your eyes to relieve the itching, this however is only a temporary solution. Add a few drops of rose water to this and splash it will help to reduce the redness.

If your eyes are itching for a long time then you must soak cotton pads in cold water with rose oil and apply them to your eyes. Rest your eyes for a few minutes and then change the pads. Do this for about an hour and you will be relieved of the itching.

Sometimes your eyes may be reacting to your contact lenses and hence begin to itch. In this case you must take care to avoid using the lenses till you get them professionally cleaned.

If you job requires you to sit in front of your computer for long hours; then you must try and take a break for a few minutes every 2 hours or so to help your eyes to get their focus back.

Placing cucumber or potato slice son your eyes help as well. Cucumber is a natural coolant and helps to cool your eyes. Potato on the other hand is a natural bleach and placing potato slices on your eyes helps to reduce the puffiness and black circles around them.

There are plenty of eye drops that you can buy over the counter that help to reduce the itching and infection in your eyes. However if you have a history of allergic reaction then I recommend visiting you doctor and getting a prescription rather than buying anything over the counter.
