Make-up is one thing which a woman cannot survive without. But, many a times out of sheer laziness or rather lack of knowledge we ignore the fact that this make up, if not removed before going to sleep can be really harmful for our skin.

It is a proven fact that product build up results in clogged pores, blackheads and ageing of skin. Hence, make a promise to yourself that from today itself your skin breathes free of make-up before you retire for the day. Don’t fret if you do not have a make-up remover handy; these natural make-up removers will help you out.

Milky Way

Milk works as an excellent make-up remover. Use it on your face and see the goop coming out easily. To make it more beneficial, add a few drops of lemon juice, a pinch of turmeric and apply it on your face, leaving the eyes. Let it dry for a few minutes and wash with warm water. Pat dry and you have squeaky clean skin.

For Your Eyes Only

Eye make-up can be stubborn and tricky. It is extremely difficult to remove it at one go. But, do not reach out to harmful chemical removers available in the market. Seek help from your kitchen cabinet. The not so humble olive oil can be your savior. Dab a cotton ball with two-three drops of olive oil and apply it on your eyes. Let it set for a few minutes and dab the make-up away. It will remove everything from the glittery eye-shadow to the stubborn mascara. What’s more, it will condition and strengthen your eyelashes as well.

Juices And More

Rose water and cucumber juice also acts as a brilliant make-up remover. Dab a cotton ball with rose water and swipe it across your face. Not only does it remove make-up, it also imparts a glow to the skin.

Store It Away

It often is troublesome to mix up ingredients everyday. This natural make-up remover can be stored for a week. Peel a cucumber and make a paste out of it. Boil one and a half cup of milk and add the cucumber to it. Simmer and cool. Store this mixture and use it as a make-up remover. This can be stored for a week.

Oils And Everything Nice

Natural oils act as very good and efficient make-up removers. Everything from coconut oil to castor oil can act as effective removers. But make sure you wipe your face with warm water after that as these natural oils can be very sticky and attract dirt while you are sleeping. Remember to select a good brand of oil and not over the counter bottles. Do not ever buy oils which are available loose at markets. The best oils for your skin are olive, castor, coconut, jojoba and canola oil. These oils are thick in consistency and it is advisable to use them in less quantity.

Whatever you choose, do remove your make up religiously. More than often, we fail to realize that the beauty products which we use contain so much of chemicals that our skin becomes tired and loses its elasticity. This results in formation of wrinkles and crow feet around eyes. So, shirk your laziness and clean up that kohl for a sparkling skin.
