Aromatherapy has gained popularity all over the world for healing many health related issues with the use of a simple method, which is inhaling the smells of different essential oils. These oils can be used in oil diffusers, in the form of candles or a few drops can be sprinkled on your pillow. The different oils that provide relief from headaches are lavender, peppermint, chamomile and eucalyptus oils. These are of course the most popular and can be bought at all aromatherapy stores. Consult the sales staff in the store to provide you with more information on any other oils that can help relieve headaches.

If you have the luxury of time, add a few drops of any of the above oils to a warm bath and soak yourself for about 20 minutes.

When you purchase the oils, look for oil diffusers. These can be used in the room and will act like a room freshener to fill your room with the aroma of the oil. Light an aromatherapy candle next to your bed, close your eyes and lie down. Try to relax and keep your mind calm. If you are in office add a few drops of the essential oils on a handkerchief or a tissue. Keep inhaling for a few minutes. Alternately, take a couple of drops and massage lightly on your temples and on the back of your neck. These oils are highly concentrated and only a drop or two will be sufficient.

Soak some cotton with the essential oils and keep inside your bag or drawers which you need to keep opening throughout the day. This way you will keep getting the whiff of the oils.
