Vitamins that are present in the foods that we eat and the drinks that we consume daily are now in the running as the foods that help to reduce weight. While earlier we were aware of the foods that helped us to reduce weight we are now learning that the reasons why these foods are successful in weight reduction is because of the basic composition of the food.

Several vitamins are beneficial to weight loss. You can choose to get your requirements from food or via supplements. Vitamin B2, commonly known as Riboflavin is a vitamin that helps to boost metabolism and helps in the normal functioning of the thyroid gland which determines your weight. You can get a healthy dose of Vitamin B2 from nuts such as almonds, milk, cheese, eggs, wheat germ and liver and kidney. In addition to Vitamin B2, B3 medically known as niacin is also important in the functioning of the thyroid gland. Meats like chicken, tuna, kidney, fish such ass mackerels and salmon and oats and barely are a good source of the vitamin.

Vitamin B5 is essential in the production of energy and utilization of fats. Meats and poultry are a good source of the Vitamin. Vitamin B6, which is found in molasses, brewer’s yeast, cabbage, wheat germ and brown rice, is one that helps in regulating your metabolism.

In addition to the above, Vitamin C is extremely essential. It helps to keep your energy levels high throughout the day and helps in burning excess fats in your body. The best source of Vitamin C is oranges while strawberries are also a great source. You can choose to eat the fruits in the raw form or blend them as juices and smoothies.
